Ms. Caroline Had Carotid Body Tumor surgery in Fortis Hospital

Caroline Mathurin (age-50 years) from St. Lucia went through a lot of consultations in her country regarding her treatment but the doctors in her country were not able to diagnose the exact problem. There were conflicting opinions that she may be suffering from lymphoma or a simple growth in the neck which needs surgery. She decided to travel to India to get the proper diagnosis and treatment.

Pre-Treatment & Process

Ms. Caroline was taken by surprise when a case manager from MediGence responded to him very quickly and asked her to provide a few details about her medical history. Caroline shared the requested details and then he received a call from MediGence to get some more information about his previous surgery. Ms. Caroline also shared his medical reports & complete medical history which were forwarded to doctors for evaluation.

MediGence Team Member coordinated with the hospital over the processing of the medical visa for Ms. Caroline Mathurin. Every formality for their travel was done and Ms. Caroline Mathurin along with her husband traveled to India on 26 April 2021. They were welcomed by the MediGence Team and taken to their arranged accommodation. The MediGence team ensured that the patient was provided with the best facilities at the hotel. Then, MediGence took the patient and her husband to the Hospital for their consultation appointment with Dr. Rahul Gupta (Neurosurgeon) and Dr. Shubham Garg (Surgical Oncologist). Both were the Operating Doctors in Ms. Caroline's case. The other day, Ms. Caroline started with her initial checkups & tests and when they were done, she got admitted to the hospital for the surgery. She was very nervous about the surgery and she wanted to speak to the doctor.

Post-Treatment

The operation was quite a success and she was suggested by the Doctors to stay for a month in India so that Doctors can closely monitor her recovery. Mrs. Caroline and her husband were very satisfied with the treating doctor and the surgery outcome. As she was diagnosed with an unusual right-sided carotid body tumor and underwent surgery under the supervision of Dr. Shubham Garg and Dr. Rahul Gupta and their team.
