Radiation therapy is used to kill cancer cells, reduce tumors, alleviate symptoms and prevent recurrence. It can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with surgery, chemotherapy,y or immunotherapy.It works by disrupting the DNA of cancer cells, preventing them from growing or dividing.
