The Hospital was established between the 1960s and 1970s in Barcelona, Spain. Since July 15, 1985 (considered as the year of the creation of this important Catalan Health Network); the Hospital belongs to the Xarxa Hospitalària d'Utilització Pública (XHUP). Since 1 October 2011, the Hospital has been undertaken by Quirónsalud for the management of important infrastructural reforms in the areas of emergencies, outpatient consultations, and hospitalization. The aim of this supervision is to improve comfort, modernize spaces, and incorporate new technological endowments, which can contribute to the improvement of customer services/customer satisfaction.
The Sagrat Cor University Hospital is the biggest private-owned Hospital in Barcelona, to date.
The medical center is famous for all its medical surgeries, care, teaching, and research activities. This medical center has secured accreditation as a Teaching Hospital by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona, and its training from multi-specialist doctors (MIR) by the Ministry of Health. Not only this, but the Hospital has established long-term agreements with other national and international Universities for conducting Undergraduate and Postgraduate training/internships.

It also performs an important task through concerts with the CatSalut (Catalan Health Service) aimed above all at reducing surgical waiting lists and is part of the Public Use Hospital Network.
The Hospital is an amalgamation of a group of buildings located in the Eixample Left of Barcelona, ??between Paris, Viladomat, and London streets. It has a capacity of 350 adjustable beds and first-class hotel-like services inpatient rooms. Currently, it has a workforce of about 1100 Healthcare Professionals.
In order to treat patients with intensive care, the Hospital has 10 beds in its ICU for critically ill patients.
The Hospital has launched a few more things to improve customers’ services- 4 new Operating Rooms and a New Diagnostic Imaging Service.

Double Rooms, Double Rooms for Individual Use, and Single Rooms; equipped with an easy-to-use electrical movement control system and a nursing call/warning system, located at the head of the bed, a sofa-bed for the companion, and a bathroom with a shower. They are also equipped with television and telephone.
A cafeteria/Restaurant is also available for the patients or visitors.
