The purpose of cervical decompression surgery is to remove any structures that are compressing the neck's nerves. To promote neck mobility and stability, this operation targets the cervical spine, which begins at the base of the skull.

Conditions such as herniated discs, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, bone spurs, or cervical arthritis may cause pressure on the cervical nerves. By releasing this pressure, cervical decompression helps to lessen symptoms, including tingling in the hands and arms, numbness, weakness, and neck discomfort.

One surgical technique used to relieve pressure on the spinal cord or nerve roots in the cervical (neck) area of the spine is cervical decompression. Degenerative disc degeneration, bone spurs, spinal stenosis, and herniated discs are among the disorders that frequently produce this pressure. The objective is to remove or reshape the tissues or bones compressing the spinal cord or nerves to relieve neck discomfort, numbness, and weakness and restore movement.
