London Borough of Merton granted permission for building a new hospital. Medicure Ltd commissioned the project and the development of the hospital required a lot of planning, time, skills and vision. The hospital was established in May 1983 with the name Parkside clinic. The first patient of the hospital was a young girl who visited the hospital with a broken arm. The first surgery at Parkside clinic was done by the General Surgeon, Mr. Robert Booth.
