It is part of Gruppo San Donato. The hospital is the fusion of two institutions with strong reputations: the former Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi (leading in orthopaedics & neurosurgery) and the Istituto Clinico Sant’Ambrogio (noted for cardiovascular care and bariatric surgery).
  • The status “IRCCS” (Istituto di Ricovero e Cura a Carattere Scientifico) means it is recognised by the Italian Ministry of Health for both its healthcare delivery and its research activities, particularly for diseases of the locomotor apparatus (musculoskeletal system).
