The goal is to reduce pain, promote healing, and improve the tendon’s function. If the tendon is severely damaged, grafts may be used to strengthen and repair the tendon, promoting better healing. After the procedure, the patient may be required to wear a boot or use crutches to avoid putting stress on the tendon while it recovers.
