In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is an assisted reproductive technology in which an egg and sperm are combined outside of the body in a laboratory setting. The embryo transfer procedure is relatively simple and painless, and most women can resume normal activities on the same day. Following embryo transfer, a period of rest and reduced stress is recommended. A pregnancy test is usually taken about two weeks later.
