Introduction

6 years old Matea Zhikoska from Macedonia was suffering from Friedreich’s Ataxia. The parents of the patient got in touch with professionals from MediGence who were prompt in providing the right guidance. It was Dr. Erdal Karaoz‬ with whom Matea’s parents consulted for her treatment. They felt confident in the expertise of the doctor and the hospital, LIV Hospital, and decided to travel to Turkey for treatment. The patient, accompanied by her parents, traveled to Turkey on 24 January 2021.

Pre-Treatment Process

She was admitted to LIV Hospital, Ulus, Turkey. Thereafter the patient underwent treatment for her condition, an autosomal-recessive genetic disease that causes difficulty walking, a loss of sensation in the arms and legs, and impaired speech that worsens over time. For this illness, she was provided with Stem Cell Therapy along with Physical Therapy. The meticulously done treatment process was successful and the parents were satisfied with the improvement in their daughter’s health.

Post Treatment process

The follow-up consultation for the procedure was organized by MediGence and the organization also shared a few stay options with the patient in close proximity to the hospital.
