Introduction

Nigerian national Mrs. Saadatu Muhammad, 48, suffered from severe abdominal pain that affected her quality of life.

To alleviate her condition, she started looking online for options for treatment in Dubai and came across MediGence. Mrs. Sadaatu contacted MediGence via direct call on the contact number provided on MediGence website and explained her condition.

Understanding Mrs. Sadaatu’s pain and past symptoms, Medigence Patient Advisory Executive recommended her to get an ultrasound and blood work-up done in Nigeria. The investigation reports concluded that she had Umbilical Hernia which required a surgical repair.

Mrs. Sadaatu had Dubai as her first destination preference for the surgery and treatment owing to better care and facilities. However, she had a limited budget for the procedure. In line with this, MediGence team shared a treatment plan with Mrs. Sadaatu curating some of the best and most affordable options from the available partner hospitals in Dubai considering her condition. After doing her part of the research on the options shared with her, reading the hospital reviews and considering the team’s recommendations, she chose Iranian Hospital in Dubai for the surgery.

Process

Mrs. Sadaatu arrived in Dubai on the 16th of October and her first consultation with Dr. Shervin Hemati, General Surgeon at Iranian Hospital, took place on the 17th of October. The next day, she was admitted for the surgery after finishing the first round of investigations. Hernia Repair Surgery was carried out successfully using the Laparoscopic Repair Technique.

Mrs. Sadaatu was discharged within 3 days of the surgery. She showed great signs of recovery and was able to walk normally within a few days.

Post-Treatment

Post-surgery, Mrs. Sadaatu was advised to take some precautions and was given healthy lifestyle tips for a better and quicker recovery. She stayed in Dubai for 2 weeks after her surgery and returned to Nigeria by the end of November.

At present, she is doing completely fine and is back to a normal routine.
