Here, he gained hands-on training in bariatric and advanced laparoscopic colorectal surgery. Under the tutelage of Prof. Carlo Ratto at the Agostino Gamelli University Hospital in Rome, he developed expertise in Trans Anal Hemorrhoidal Dearteralization( THD) which is one of the most advanced methods for treating hemorrhoids surgically. He also received a Diploma in Hernia Essentials from the Asia Pacific Hernia Society(APHS). Dr. Mitra also undertook training in laser surgery in Proctology at the Ospedali Privati Forlim Villa Serena in Italy.
