Mr. Seifu Got Total Hip Replacement in Turkey

A 55-year-old from Ethiopia, Yohannes Zewdie Seifu, was experiencing pain in his hip joint and difficulty in mobility and had been advised to undergo hip replacement surgery by his local doctors. He was willing to travel to Turkey for the procedure. This is when he decided to consult with an Orthopedic surgeon and decided to go to the Istinye University Hospital for the treatment. Pre-Treatment & Process

As he was being admitted to the hospital for the surgery, Mr. Yohannes Zewdie Seifu was counseled by the doctor as to the preparedness and the risks involved. This was important considering the patient had been looking forward to undergoing Right Total Hip Replacement surgery. He also underwent the required tests which deemed him fit for the procedure. A medical evaluation, blood samples, EKG, stress test, chest X-ray, and urine sample were all part of the testing. The tests were necessary to determine whether the patient is ready for surgery and whether he had any issues that require particular attention before proceeding. Post this the patient underwent a successful Unilateral Total Hip Replacement Surgery.

Post Treatment

There were no post-procedural complications for the patient and the surgery can be termed a complete success. The patient was helped with the travel post-surgery from the hospital to the place of residence for the post-procedure stay (as advised by the doctor) that he spent as a recovery period in the country. The total time spent by the patient in the country was 20 days including the hospital stay.
