Introduction

On 17 Mar 2023, Mr. Saad Ahmed, 55, of Syria, left for India to receive medical care. The patient traveled to the Indian hospital with his brother-in-law. His symptoms included tremor, or shaking, that usually began in a limb; slower movement; poor posture and balance; loss of spontaneous movements; and altered speech. After speaking with medical professionals in his home nation, he made the decision to undergo DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation Surgery) as a treatment for his condition. After he emailed us, a member of our patient advisory team spoke with him to learn more about his symptoms, diagnosis, and other details. He gave him a list of medications and reports.

We emailed him the treatment plan and spoke with leading neurosurgeons about the situation. He made the decision to proceed with Dr. Aditya Gupta and Dr. Sumit Singh at Artemis Hospital following a series of consultations. MediGence intervened to support her during the process. Throughout the entire process, which included the hospital stay, airport pickup, hospital transfer, and all consultation and appointment scheduling, MediGence provided assistance to the patient.

With more than 21 years of clinical expertise, neurosurgeon Dr. Aditya Gupta is a skilled practitioner. 1994 saw him graduate from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi with his MBBS. He received his M.Ch. (Neurosurgery) from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, in 1999.

One of India’s best specialists in the field of brain and spine surgery is Dr. Sumit Singh. He has worked for more than 21 years. In India, he is a skilled neurologist. The physician has affiliations with several famous hospitals in India. As of right now, the doctor holds the position of Chief Consultant. The physician is a reputable and in-demand medical specialist.

Founded in 2007, this multispecialty hospital is the first in the bustling metropolis of Gurgaon to hold JCI and NABH accreditations. Indian healthcare has reached new heights thanks to the combination of cutting-edge technology, skilled personnel, and expertise from internationally trained medical teams. Hotels close to Artemis Hospital Gurgaon are conveniently located. Affordability combined with an open, welcoming atmosphere has led to its rapid rise in popularity.

Pre-Treatment and Surgical Procedure

Dr. Sumit Singh, a neurologist, conducted the entire consultation in a smooth and competent manner. Dr. Aditya Gupta, a surgeon, then carried out the procedure. He underwent therapy for five days at Artemis Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital for DBS treatment to manage her Parkinson’s symptoms. Deep brain stimulation is the most successful surgical treatment for Parkinson’s disease (DBS). A surgeon inserts thin metal wires into the brain to help control some motor symptoms. These wires send electrical pulses to the brain.

Prior to being admitted to the hospital, Mr. Saad Ahmed made an appointment for counseling with Dr. Aditya Gupta, the neurosurgeon. The doctor and his associates provided Mr. Saad Ahmed with information about his health and addressed his queries. The patient and his neurologist also had a thorough discussion regarding the course of treatment, any medications the patient may have been receiving, and the state of the patient’s illness in relation to the medication. He was able to voice all of his concerns and the doctor and the medical staff appropriately addressed all of her inquiries. He then underwent testing, including MRIs, CT scans, and other relevant exams, as advised by the doctor, in addition to getting ready for surgery.

Post Treatment

For two weeks, Ms. Saad Ahmed was in India having rehabilitation. In order to make sure the patient’s therapy met his expectations and went as planned, MediGence arranged for a follow-up appointment. It was then suggested that she stay in India for a two-week period in order to receive follow-up care and rehabilitation.
