This is the tale of Miora Tantely Rasamison, a 1-year-old girl from Madagascar whose family was extremely concerned about her health throughout the first few months of her life. Her symptoms, which included poor weight gain, a chronic cough, and a heart murmur, necessitated an immediate medical assessment.
Doctors diagnosed her with Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), a condition requiring timely intervention to protect her heart and overall development. Given the complexity of paediatric cardiac care and the importance of specialised expertise, Miora's family began searching for reliable international treatment options.
Miora's family reached out to MediGence on May 7, 2025, for guidance, coordination, and a trusted medical pathway for their child. This case was handled with great care by the MediGence Patient Advisor, Ms. Vanshika, who was aware of the urgency and sensitivity involved in treating a child.
A prior consultation with the treating doctor was arranged before travel, helping the family clearly understand the condition, treatment plan, and expected outcomes. Based on medical suitability and availability of advanced paediatric cardiology services, India was recommended as the destination of choice.
MediGence organized Miora's care at Fortis Hospital, Mumbai, under the supervision of Dr. Dhananjay Malankar, a senior paediatric cardiologist. After conducting pre-operative tests, the final diagnosis of ductus arteriosus closure was made, and a minimally invasive procedure was planned.
Miora received treatmentfor PDA closurethrough the catheterization technique, which is a safe and reliable method, most appropriate for infants.
Miora travelled to India on July 24, 2025, staying for 20 days in the country, including 6 days in the hospital. MediGence made sure the child and her caretakers had a seamless and stress-free trip by helping with everything from visa assistance and airport transfers to hospital coordination and family support.
The family was able to fully concentrate on Miora's recovery and well-being because every stage of the procedure was managed with care.
The procedure was a success, and Miora is responding well to the treatment. With her heart condition now corrected, she is living a healthy and pain-free life, reflecting positive growth.
Her family is very grateful for the support and guidance that made this life-changing procedure possible.
Miora's story is a strong reminder that early diagnosis, quality pediatric care, and coordination can make a world of difference in the life of a child. At MediGence, we are proud to have been able to assist her family in making this journey smooth and seamless for them.
We wish Miora Tantely Rasamison a future filled with health, joy, and endless possibilities, starting life anew with a strong and healthy heart.
