An unfortunate event interrupted the vacation plans of Jennifer, a 59-year-old woman from America, who was enjoying herself with her family in Turkey. She abruptly twisted her foot while walking on uneven ground, which caused immense pain and swelling.
Jennifer was unable to move and was unsure of the severity, but she knew she needed medical help immediately. Due to the holiday season, many hospitals and clinics were either closed or had reduced hours of operation. Since she needed immediate medical attention, she began searching for help online and reached out to MediGence for assistance with her medical query. Our dedicated patient advisor, Ms Arhama, responded promptly despite the holiday season and made quick arrangements for Jennifer to visit the emergency room of a respectable Lokman Hakim Esnaf Turkish hospital.
After Jennifer was taken to the hospital, she had an orthopaedic evaluation and all required tests, including X-rays. Fortunately, no fractures were discovered. She had soft tissue damage, according to the experts, which could be treated conservatively. She was kept out of the hospital and given supportive care, rest instructions, and the proper medications. Within days, she started to feel better, and no surgery was required.
Jennifer spent fifteen days in Turkey. Her condition gradually improved with the right medication, advice, and rest for a few days. She was able to walk pain-free and was prepared to go home by the end of her journey. Jennifer said, "The care I received was excellent." More than anything else, though, I was happy to have Arhama on my side. I felt secure knowing that someone was present, even on a holiday.
Today, Jennifer is back in the United States, fully recovered and leading a healthy, pain-free life. Her experience in Turkey, though it began with uncertainty, turned into a story of support, care, and recovery.
Jennifer's story serves as a great example of how unplanned events can occur during holiday trips outside the home country. When local resources weren't immediately available, MediGence was there to ensure she received high-quality care in a timely and comfortable manner. According to Jennifer, "things could have gone very differently." However, she felt supported the entire time and is extremely grateful to MediGence and Arhama.
