Ruddy Marie Morgane Panglosse’s Fibroid Treatment Journey in Thailand

At 52, Ruddy Marie Morgane Panglosse from France had been dealing with symptoms that were affecting her comfort and everyday life. She was experiencing pain and heavy menstrual bleeding, symptoms that can significantly interfere with daily activities and overall well-being.

Seeking appropriate medical attention, ruddy decided to have her condition evaluated.

Although she initially sought care for fibroid removal, her medical assessment provided a different and less invasive path forward. After reviewing her condition, the treating team determined that surgery was not necessary at that time and recommended medication instead.

Her journey took her to Thailand, where she was already staying when she sought medical care. Through the MediGence website, she was able to connect with BPK9 and receive care under Dr. Benchawan Limpavanuspong.

Seeking Medical Care for Fibroid-Related Symptoms

Ruddy's primary concern was the presence of fibroids accompanied by pain and heavy bleeding. Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous growths that can develop in or around the uterus. Many women with fibroids may have no symptoms, while others can experience heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic discomfort, abdominal pressure, or pain. When symptoms become troublesome, medical evaluation can help determine the most appropriate management approach.

Because of the combination of severe pain and heavy bleeding, Ruddy was encouraged to seek medical attention. She was seeking treatment for the fibroids, with the only indicated option being their removal. However, her eventual treatment demonstrates why a thorough medical assessment is important before deciding on surgery.

Finding Care While Already in Thailand

Ruddy was already in Thailand when she sought medical assistance. Rather than travelling specifically from France for the procedure, she was able to arrange her medical care locally.

She connected via the MediGence website and was subsequently referred for treatment at BPK9 through her case manager, Arhama.

Her medical care was provided under Dr. Benchawan Limpavanuspong, who evaluated her symptoms and considered the appropriate treatment approach. For Ruddy, this assessment was an important turning point. Although she had initially expected that fibroid removal might be required, the medical team determined that surgery was not necessary. Instead, medication was considered sufficient for managing her condition at that stage.

When Surgery Was Not Necessary

Ruddy's story incorporates one significant message; namely, she did not ultimately require the surgical procedure she, in the beginning, wanted to go through. According to the doctors' evaluation, her treatment plan now consisted only of medication. The choice against surgery means that Ruddy could deal with her health problems without a complex intervention.

The therapeutic strategies for fibroids may differ significantly due to factors such as the symptoms, size, and location of the fibroids, their impact on the patient’s health, and the patient's overall health and goals. Not every patient suffering from symptomatic fibroids needs to have surgery. It was decided by the doctors that the best way of treatment for Ruddy was to have the medication prescribed.

Ruddy underwent about seven days of medical treatment. As part of this, the appropriate medications were administered per the medical team's orders. The purpose of her stay was to assist her in managing her symptoms due to her fibroids, chiefly pain and heavy bleeding.

Since surgery did not take place, there was no postoperative treatment or recovery. This means many issues common for an operative process, including hospitalisation and recovery after the procedure, were avoided.  As a result, for Ruddy, treatment was much easier while her needs were met.

A Successful Treatment Experience

Ruddy has successfully navigated her medical journey. She was initially scheduled for fibroid surgery, but after evaluation by healthcare providers, surgery was deemed unnecessary, and medication was offered instead. This meant that she was able to complete her treatment without going through the surgery that was originally planned.

Ruddy encountered no issues along her treatment pathway. This experience helped her understand the importance of having medical practitioners evaluate her condition before considering surgical options. What she thought would require fibroid surgery has turned into a medication solution.

This was an important outcome because it allowed her to receive appropriate care without undergoing surgery that was not considered necessary.

A Positive Step Forward

For Ruddy, seeking treatment was ultimately about finding relief from symptoms that had been affecting her daily life. At 52, she had been experiencing pain and heavy bleeding associated with fibroids. She travelled within her existing stay in Thailand to seek medical attention and was evaluated at BPK9.

Her treatment under Dr. Benchawan Limpavanuspong resulted in a different approach from the one she had initially expected. Instead of undergoing fibroid removal, she received medications because surgery was not required.

Ruddy finished her seven-day medical journey without any complications. Ruddy's experience also highlights the need for personalised medical treatment. While surgery may work best for some fibroid patients, for others the symptoms can be managed with medication and conservative techniques, depending on each particular case. In her case, a careful assessment showed she would not need surgery. In general, her journey from seeking surgery to being prescribed medications illustrates how much specialist evaluation and personalised treatment plans matter.

Essentially, what started as a search for surgery has evolved into an easier solution that made Ruddy's treatment successful.
