V-line jaw surgery, also known as a mandibuloplasty, is done to narrow your jawline. Parts of your jawbone and chin are removed during surgery so that your jaw heals in a more pointed shape that resembles the letter "V."

V-shaped jaws and chins are associated with femininity and beauty in several cultures. People who want to have a more "feminine" jaw and chin shape are more likely to be women or nonbinary.

The V-line jaw surgery procedure changes the angles of your jaw and chin. The broader part of your mandible bones is removed, giving your jaw a more triangular appearance. Your chin is also shaved down at the tip, resulting in a sharper tip at the bottom of your jaw. These alterations to your jawbone and chin have bonded together to give your jaw an elongated shape once the surgery is completed and you have finished recuperating.

You may need to refrain from using blood-thinning drugs for up to two weeks before your V-line jaw surgery appointment. If you smoke, you should quit because it can slow recovery and increase the chance of problems.

Your surgeon will tell you not to drink alcohol for 48 hours before surgery. Before your consultation, your provider may give you extra instructions to follow. Make sure you pay attention to them.

This treatment yields long-lasting results (permanent results).
