  • Changes in sensation, such as increased or decreased nipple sensitivity, usually resolve over time.

  • Changes in breast appearance, including firmness and shape, as the breasts heal and settle into their new position.
  • Scarring around the incision sites gradually fades over time but may remain visible.

Before undergoing breast lift surgery, several diagnostic tests and evaluations may be conducted to ensure the procedure is safe and appropriate for the individual. These may include:

  • Physical Examination: A thorough physical examination, including assessment of breast size, shape, symmetry, skin quality, and nipple position, is performed by the surgeon.

Pain medication prescribed by the surgeon can alleviate any discomfort during this period, while patients are encouraged to follow post-operative instructions diligently to support the healing process. Wearing a surgical bra or compression garment may be recommended to provide additional support to the breasts as they heal.

As healing progresses over the following weeks, swelling and bruising gradually subside, allowing patients to return to work and resume light activities within a week or two. However, strenuous activities, heavy lifting, and vigorous exercise should be avoided for several weeks to ensure optimal healing. Regular follow-up appointments with the surgeon are essential to monitor progress, address any concerns, and assess the final results of the procedure, which may take several months to fully manifest as swelling resolves and the breasts settle into their new position.
