Qualification and Experience

Dr. T.S. Kler is one of the most renowned cardiac surgeons in India. Dr. Kler obtained MBBS in the year 1976 from Punjabi University. Later, he completed his MD in internal medicine from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in 1980. From the same institute, he was awarded the degree of DM in cardiology in 1983. Currently, Dr. Kler is the Chairman of Pushpawati Singhania Hospital & Research Institute, New Delhi. Dr. Kler has done more than 10,000 coronary, peripheral, and renal angioplasties.

Contribution to Medical Science

Dr. Kler is the pioneer of various technologies and cardio interventions in India. In 1995, he became the first doctor to implant Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) in India. Also, the first department of electrophysiology in India was set up under his guidance. In 2005, he received Padma Bhushan award for his contribution in medical science. He is also the recipient of Lifetime achievement award for his contribution in Clinical & Preventive Cardiology. Dr. Kler is an expert in performing various cardiac surgeries such as Aortic Stent Grafting, Radiofrequency Ablation, Peripheral Angiogram, Biventricular Pacing, Valve Repair, and Replacement and percutaneous Transvenous Mitral Commissurotomy among others.
