Dr. Rakesh is the recipient of Gold Medal awarded by Punjab University, Chandigarh (MBBS), CMC Ludhiana, Punjab University, in 1983, and Distinction in MS (Surgery), CMC Ludhiana, Punjab University,1980.
Out of 37 years of overall clinical experience, Dr. Rakesh has more than 25 years of surgical experience. He has gained expertise in performing various types of plastic surgeries. He Specializes in vascular malformations, cosmetic surgery, replantation of amputated parts and head & neck reconstruction, and reconstructive microsurgery. He was the Visiting professor to Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore and King George’s Medical College, Lucknow, Gen Sanyal Visiting Professor in the year 2010. Dr. Rakesh was also the Visiting Professor to Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, Ethicon Visiting Professorship in Microsurgery in 1997. He has undertaken more than 20 national and international research projects.
