He is also an expert in lung surgeries and coronary bypass surgeries. He also has a special interest in pediatric cardiology. Apart from Sri Ramchandra Medical Centre, Dr. T Periyasamy is also associated with Sooriya hospital, Chennai. In 2016, he was instrumental in developing a new procedure, which was the first time in India, for conducting valve implantation. The implantation was done in a senior citizen who was declared unfit for open-heart surgery.
