With more than 13 years of experience in Cardiology care, Dr. T Periyasamy is currently Senior Consultant & Head of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, Chennai. He had done MBBS from Annamalai University. Later, he completed his MS. From Sri Ramachandra University, Dr. Periyasamy has completed his M. Ch. He was also awarded a fellowship from Rajiv Gandhi University in Cardiac surgery. Dr. Periyasamy is also a Fellow in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery.
Dr. T Periyasamy is specialized in congenital heart surgery, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, Valve Repair, and Heart Failure Management (heart-lung transplant). He is also an expert in lung surgeries and coronary bypass surgeries. He also has a special interest in pediatric cardiology. Apart from Sri Ramchandra Medical Centre, Dr. T Periyasamy is also associated with Sooriya hospital, Chennai. In 2016, he was instrumental in developing a new procedure, which was the first time in India, for conducting valve implantation. The implantation was done in a senior citizen who was declared unfit for open-heart surgery.
