Dr Neil Barber is a leading Consultant Urological Surgeon based at Frimley Park Hospital, with clinical practices in London and Surrey.
Appointed as Consultant Urological Surgeon in 2005, he currently serves as Clinical Lead for Urology at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.
He is Director of the Frimley Renal Cancer Centre and the Frimley Benign Prostate Clinical Research Centre. He is also a founding member of Urology Partners.
With over 20 years of experience, Dr Barber is a pioneer in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted urological surgery, specialising in the management of benign prostate enlargement (BPH), kidney disorders, renal and prostate cancers, and complex upper urinary tract conditions.
He has been instrumental in introducing several cutting-edge technologies to the UK and the NHS, including the GreenLight laser prostatectomy (2002), Urolift (2014), iTIND (2019), and Aquablation. He has led multiple clinical trials evaluating these innovations.
Dr Barber is recognised as one of the highest-volume robotic kidney surgeons in the UK, performing complex procedures such as robotic partial nephrectomies, nephroureterectomies, and pyeloplasties.
He introduced the Da Vinci robotic system to Frimley Park Hospital and has continuously advanced robotic and laparoscopic techniques, minimising patient recovery times and improving surgical outcomes.
