Dr. Guven Sadi Sunam

Qualification and Experience

Dr. Guven Sadi Sunam was born in ?anakkale in 1966 and completed his primary and secondary education in Ankara. In 1983, he enrolled in Gazi University Faculty of Medicine and graduated in 1989. His career began as a general practitioner at Diyarbakır Kulp Health Center, where he worked for 8 months starting in 1989. In 1990, he began his specialization as a faculty in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at Selçuk University Meram Medical Faculty, completing it in 1995.

Between 1997 and 1999, Dr. Guven Sadi Sunam fulfilled his military service at the Naval Command Gölcük 600-bed Naval Hospital. In 2005, he attained the title of associate professor after passing the associate professorship exam at Selçuk University. During this period, he assumed leadership in the Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery intensive care unit and played a pivotal role in developing intensive care and endoscopic surgery infrastructure within the Thoracic Surgery clinic.

In 2009, he transitioned to Selçuklu Medical Faculty Hospital as part of the newly established Selçuk University's 2nd medical faculty. Dr. Guven Sadi Sunam contributed significantly to the establishment of the Thoracic Surgery Clinic and the 900-bed hospital, serving as deputy chief physician and participating in various committees. His promotion to professorship came in 2011, and he subsequently led the Department of Thoracic Surgery for 11 years.

Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in training students and assistants, shaping the next generation of medical professionals in his field.
