Dr. Erkan Kabawas born on November 14, 1980, in Adapazarı. From 1999 to 2005, he attended the Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Medicine to finish his medical education.

Between 2006 and 2011, he completed his specialty training in the Department of Thoracic Surgery at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. In 2011, he became a specialist in thoracic surgery. Between 2011 and 2013, he performed his public service responsibilities at the Erzurum Regional Training and Research Hospital.

Since 2013, he has been employed as a lecturer in the Department of Thoracic Surgery at the Demiroğlu Science University Faculty of Medicine. Since 2017, he has served as the department chair.
