Dr. Puranik has been associated with various reputed hospitals and clinics. He worked with AKG hospital Kannur as an orthopedic consultant, and St Johns hospital, Bangalore. He has also been associated with various hospitals abroad such as Queen Elizabeth II hospital, England, Princess Alexandra Hospital, England, and Gloucester Royal Hospital, England. He had also worked for Shree Orthopedic and Fracture Clinic (RT Nagar) and Prakriya hospital. Dr. Puranik completed MBBS from Govt Medical College, Bellary in the year 1995. Later, in the year 1998, he completed a diploma in orthopedics from Govt Medical College, Bellary. He was awarded DNB (Ortho) from the Institute of Orthopedics research and accident surgery, Madurai in the year 2001.  He was awarded a fellowship (MRCS) from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in the year 2006. In the year 2012, he was awarded a fellowship from Royal Liverpool University hospitals for Limb reconstruction surgery. He completed FRCS (T&O) Joint Surgical Colleges Fellowship Examinations – RCSI in the year 2017.
