Dr. Shankar Kurpad had completed his MBBS in 1996 from St. Jones Medical College, Bangalore. In 2002, he was awarded a Diploma in orthopedics from Dr. MGR Medical University. Dr. Kurpad was also trained in orthopedics at Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore. During his academic life, he was awarded various medals and distinctions. Dr. Kurpad won the second prize in the essay competition. Dr. Kurpad receives his fellowship in 2002 for traumatology in Munich and in 2006 in Hip Replacement and reconstruction in Dresden.
Presently working as an Orthopedic consultant at Columbia Asia Hospital, Yeshwantpur, Dr. Kurpad is also providing his services at The Fracture and Orthopedic Clinic in Bangalore. Research papers of Dr, Kurpad has been published in various journals and many-a-times he has presented papers in various conferences. He has an interest in guiding the young orthopedic surgeons through his training programme, which are in collaboration with Zimmer Institute.
