The neurosurgical profession of Associate Professor Dr. Mehmet Tönge has amassed enormous experience in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery for over 21 years, fluent in English and Turkish.
His medical education was completed at Süleyman Demirel University, and his specialisation in neurosurgery was done at Gazi University, with subsequent promotion to Associate Professor at Istanbul Medipol University.
Dr. Tönge's main interests encompass MR-guided focused ultrasound, deep brain stimulation, Gamma Knife radiosurgery for surgical treatment of Parkinson's disease, pain, spasticity, epilepsy, and psychiatric conditions.
He has written 32 articles and 12 book chapters, made 92 presentations, and given 44 invited lectures, with research mainly focused on innovative neurosurgical techniques.
He is a member of the Turkish Neurosurgical Society and the European Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery, with a current practice at Medipol University Parkinson's and Movement Disorders Center (PARMER) in Istanbul.
