Dr. Subhash Chandra is one of the most senior interventional cardiologists in India. In 1984, he completed his MBBS from Aligarh Muslim University. From the same University, he completed his MD in General Medicine in 1987. Later on, in 1993, Dr. Chandra obtained his advanced degree in cardiology, DM (Cardiology) from the prestigious AIIMS. He had also passed his DNB-cardiology in 1991. Currently, Dr. Subhash Chandra is the Chairman & HOD in Cardiology Department at BLK Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi. Prior to this, he was also associated with Fortis, Narinder Mohan Heart Centre, and Apollo hospital.
Dr. Subhash Chandra has been awarded Sujoy B. Roy Young Investigator Award in 1989 while in 1993, he was awarded Col. K.L. Chopra Research Award. He has performed more than 25000 complex angioplasties. Dr. Chandra is on the Advisory Panel of St. Jude Medical, CRM and is also a Visiting fellow in interventional cardiology, France. His clinical experience includes endovascular interventions such as Carotid, Aortic, and subclavian, angioplasties and IVC filter placement. He is also an expert in performing device implantation procedures such as a Biventricular pacemaker. He is a member of the Member National Academy of Medical Sciences.
