Dr. Prof. Doan Quoc Hung

• Professor Doctor Doan Quoc Hưng is a distinguished expert in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery with over 33 years of experience in clinical practice, medical education, and healthcare leadership.
• A graduate of Hanoi Medical University (1991), he completed his surgical residency at Hanoi Medical University – Hữu Nghị Việt Đức Hospital (1992–1995) and pursued advanced postgraduate training in France and Taiwan, specialising in vascular, cardiac, and thoracoscopic surgery.
• Throughout his illustrious career, Prof. Hưng has held several prominent positions, including Former Vice Rector and Acting Rector, Head of Graduate Training Management, and Head of the Surgery Department at Hanoi Medical University.
• He also served as Deputy Director of the Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Centre at Hữu Nghị Việt Đức Hospital, contributing to both clinical excellence and institutional development.
• A dedicated researcher and academician, Prof. Hưng has led 24 major research projects, including national and ministerial-level studies, and has authored or co-authored over 270 scientific publications in both international and domestic journals.
• He has also contributed to 26 medical textbooks and reference materials, with 12 as chief editor. His research primarily focuses on cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, as well as medical education and training methodologies.
• For his exceptional service to healthcare, research, and education, Prof. Doan Quoc Hưng has been honoured with numerous prestigious awards, including the Vietnam Talent Award (2011), Outstanding Physician title (2014), People’s Physician title (2020), the Third-Class Labor Medal (2017), and the Second-Class Labor Medal (2024). Recognised for his lifelong dedication to medicine, he was also conferred the title of Professor in Medicine in 2021.
