Palmar Fasciectomy is performed to release finger contractures caused by Dupuytren's disease and improve the functional range of motion of the hand. Depending on the extent of disease, the surgeon may remove affected sections of the thickened palmar fascia while carefully protecting nearby nerves, blood vessels, and tendons. Before surgery, hand function and contracture severity are assessed. Postoperative splinting and structured hand therapy may be recommended to support healing and maintain finger movement.
