Distal Clavicle Excision (Resection) is used to treat selected cases of painful AC joint degeneration, arthritis, or related conditions when non-surgical treatments have not provided sufficient relief. Through small arthroscopic portals or an open incision, the surgeon removes a limited portion of the distal clavicle to eliminate abnormal contact within the joint. The goal is to reduce pain while preserving shoulder movement and stability. The recovery plan depends on the surgical approach and any additional procedures performed.
