Debridement of Achilles Tendon is a surgical procedure used to remove diseased, degenerated, or non-viable tissue from the Achilles tendon. It may be considered for patients with chronic Achilles tendinopathy or tendon damage that has not responded adequately to conservative treatment. During surgery, the surgeon carefully removes unhealthy tissue while preserving as much healthy tendon as possible. If substantial tendon damage is present, tendon repair or reconstruction may be performed at the same time.
