Acibadem Fulya Hospital utilises Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) Therapy in the context of modern mechanical circulatory assistance technology and evidence-based heart care. IABP therapy can be considered when a temporary method of mechanical support is necessary in patients diagnosed with severe heart failure, cardiogenic shock, or certain high-risk cardiac surgeries. The catheter carrying the balloon device is inserted into the aorta and follows the heart’s phases to improve blood circulation and reduce the heart’s workload.
