• Dr. (Prof.) Sumit Batra is a highly experienced Orthopaedic and Joint Replacement Surgeon with over 24 years of expertise in orthopaedics, trauma management, spine surgery, and joint replacement.
• He currently serves as the Program Clinical Director for the Department of Orthopaedics & Joint Replacement at Marengo Asia Hospitals, Faridabad.
• Dr Batra has trained at some of the world’s leading institutions, including fellowships at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Great Western Hospital, and Alexandra Hospital in the United Kingdom, which have enhanced his skills in spinal surgery, trauma management, and complex orthopaedic procedures.
• He has also held senior positions, including Senior Consultant of Orthopaedics and DNB Supervisor at the Asian Institute of Medical Sciences, Faridabad, and Senior Consultant at Max Hospital, New Delhi. Earlier in his career, he served as a Senior Specialist and Assistant Professor at Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi.
• He completed his MBBS from University College of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi (1994), MS in Orthopaedics from Maulana Azad Medical College, University of Delhi (1998), and FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK (2013).
• He is also a recipient of prestigious fellowships, including the Johnson & Johnson Indian Orthopaedic Association Travelling Fellowship (2009) and the Delhi Orthopaedic Association Travelling Fellowship (2007).
• Dr Batra’s areas of expertise include knee and hip replacement, spine surgery, microdiscectomy, spinal decompression and fixation, complex trauma management, limb reconstruction (Ilizarov), and deformity correction.
• He provides a wide range of services, including arthroscopic surgeries, sports injury management, primary joint arthroplasty, and spinal injury treatments.
• A committed academician and mentor, Dr Batra also serves as a DNB supervisor, contributing to the education and training of future orthopaedic surgeons.
