Later on, in 1982 he was awarded MS - Orthopaedics by Government General Hospital, Chennai. In 1987, Dr. Govindaraj obtained his Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons, Glasgow. He also has undergone advanced training in Germany under Professor Henry Hazm. Area of expertise of Dr. Govindaraj includes knee, shoulder and hip replacement surgeries.
