OB-GYNs treat:

• Pregnancy and high-risk pregnancies

• Ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, endometriosis
• Gynecologic infections and STDs
• Menopausal health issues

OB-GYNs perform:

• Laparoscopic and minimally invasive gynecological procedures
• Cesarean sections and assisted deliveries
• Intrauterine insemination (IUI) and fertility procedures
• Colposcopy and treatments of cervical lesions
• Hysterectomy, myomectomy, and procedures for reproductive health

If healthy, once a year for regular checkups. Fix a schedule more frequently, when pregnant or for specific worrying gynecological issues.

An OB-GYN is a certified physician trained to manage complicated obstetric and gynecologic conditions, perform surgery, and take care of high-risk pregnancies. Midwives typically provide routine care during a pregnancy and labor, and mostly work in low-risk settings. They are not trained to perform surgery or manage complex medical care.
