Professor Tong Chunrong is a leading haematology expert and serves as Head of the Immunotherapy and Targeted Therapy Department as well as Director of Scientific Research.
She is the leader of the Immunology and Targeted Therapy discipline at the GoBroad Medical (Haematology) Research Centre and holds the position of Dean of Research at Beijing GoBroad Boren Hospital, GoBroad Medical Institute of Haematology (Beijing Centre).
In addition, she heads the Department of Haematology (General Haematology).
With more than 30 years of clinical and experimental research experience in haematology, Professor Tong specialises in the integrated diagnosis and comprehensive treatment of malignant hematological tumors, with a strong focus on personalised and precision medicine.
She is particularly renowned for her expertise in hematologic tumor immunotherapy.
Professor Tong is among the first experts in China to implement immunotherapy in hematologic malignancies and has achieved an internationally leading level in CAR-T cell therapy for refractory and relapsed blood cancers.
Under her leadership, her team was the first in China to apply second-generation CD19-41BB CAR-T therapy for refractory and relapsed acute B-cell lymphoblastic leukaemia.
She has also led the development of multiple targeted CAR-T therapies, establishing her centre as one of the most comprehensive CAR-T research hubs globally.
