Dr. Umit Koc

• About the author Dr. Umit Koc, is a general surgeon in Istanbul, working at Istinye University Bahcesehir Liv Hospital with an experience of 22 years.
• For his primary school, he went to Augsburg and Mersin Gazipasa Primary School in Turkey. He met his secondary and high school education at Mersin Tevfik Srr Gur High School and then majored at the Ukurova Faculty of Medicine, and became a medical doctor from 1993 to 1999.
• He graduated from Ankara University Medicine Faculty in 1995 and after 6 years between 2000-2005, he completed his General Surgery Specialization at Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital and became a General Surgery Specialist after his obligatory service in Mardin Midyat Health Center.
• After his compulsory service and military service at Ankara Yuksek Training and Research Hospital Gastroenterology Surgery Clinic between 2008 and 2010, he received his Gastroenterology Surgery Specialist diploma. After that, he started to serve as an experienced Gastroenterology surgeon at Antalya Training and Research Hospital.
• By 2016 he had been moved to the post of an Associate Professor. As a member of Da Vinci's Robotic Surgery certification program; he put through Robotic Tumor Surgery in 107 Antalya Training and Research Hospitals in 2016.
• He started his academic life at Istinye University Bahçeşehir Liv Hospital in 2019 after performing many tumor surgeries and bariatric surgery at Antalya Training and Research Hospital between 2010 and 2018.
• Since 2021 he has worked in the Memorial Sisli Hospital in Istanbul Turkey and continues his work in this hospital.
• He practices gastric bypass surgery, gastrointestinal, and weight loss. Expanding a little more on his specialization the areas of specialty are Obesity and Metabolic Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Robotic Surgery, and Gastrointestinal Tumor Surgery.
• In addition to the patient’s sickness, the relevant diseases, and a personal medical history before the surgical procedure, Dr. Umit Koc conducts a detailed study.
