  • Printed Indian Visa Application Form with accurate details, recent photo, and applicant’s signature for patients traveling from Bangladesh to India.
  • Applicants from Bangladesh to India must submit a 2 recent passport-size photos (2×2 inch, white background) and a correctly filled out online visa form.
  • Original Bangladeshi passport (valid for 6+ months) with 2 blank pages.
  • Yellow Fever & Oral Polio Vaccination (OPV) certificates (for applicants >6 months; issued 2 weeks before travel).
  • Medical reports, CT, MRI, lab results, diagnosis summary.
  • A hospital invitation letter and medical reports are needed for those seeking treatment from Bangladesh to India.
  • Proof of financial ability , recent bank statement/salary certificate.
  • Applicants travelling from Bangladesh to India must provide proof of residence in Bangladesh (NID, utility bill, etc.).
  • A return flight itinerary is necessary for travel plans.
  • Attendants from Bangladesh to India must also submit a passport copy and proof of residence.
  • Birth certificate of the minor.
  • Passports of both parents (copies).

Apply Online

  • Visit indianvisaonline.gov.in
  • Choose Medical e-Visa
  • Fill the form, upload documents (photos and passport copy), and pay the visa fee online.

Approval Process

  • Submit the form and wait for approval (usually a few days).
  • An approved e-Visa is emailed to you - print and carry it.
  • Some applicants may be called for a short embassy/consulate interview.
  • A valid passport (6+ months) is required for applicants travelling from Bangladesh to India.
  • A medical certificate explaining your condition is needed for those seeking treatment from Bangladesh to India.
  • A hospital invitation letter from an accredited Indian hospital must confirm the diagnosis and treatment for patients from Bangladesh travelling to India.
  • Financial proof, such as bank statements or sponsorship, is required for travellers from Bangladesh to India.
  • A return flight itinerary is needed for anyone planning travel from Bangladesh to India.
  • A maximum of two family members/companions can accompany the patient as medical attendants.
  • Medical attendants must apply separately for a Medical Attendant Visa.
  • Both patient and attendants must submit valid Yellow Fever and Oral Polio Vaccination certificates (as applicable).
  • Priority for medical visas is given to patients requiring neurosurgery, joint replacement, ophthalmic treatment, renal disorders, cardiac care, congenital disorder management, organ transplant, radiation therapy, plastic surgery, or gene therapy.

e-Medical Visa

  • Valid for 60 days from arrival in India.
  • Allows up to 2 entries.

Regular Medical Visa

  • Initially granted for up to 1 year, depending on treatment duration.
  • Can be extended by Indian FRRO/FRO on doctor’s recommendation.
  • Further extensions require Ministry of Home Affairs approval.
  • Original passport + photocopy of bio page.
  • Original Bangladeshi passport (valid for 6+ months) with 2 blank pages.
  • Recent photos (2"×2", white background).
  • Hospital Invitation Letter from an Indian hospital OR medical facilitator.
  • Medical referral letter from a local doctor recommending treatment in India.
  • Complete medical records and investigation reports.
  • Proof of funds – bank statement/sponsor letter.
  • Confirmed return ticket or travel itinerary.
