  • Applicants from Bahrain to India must submit a recent passport photo and a correctly filled out online visa form.

  • Applicants travelling from Bahrain to India must provide proof of funds and proof of residence.
  • A return flight itinerary is necessary for travel plans.
  • Attendants from Bahrain to India must also submit a passport copy and proof of residence.

  • Choose Medical e-Visa
  • Fill the form, upload documents (photos and passport copy), and pay the visa fee online. Patients can check the status of their Medical Visa by visiting the Indian High Commission website.

Approval Process

  • Submit the form and wait for approval (usually 3-5 days).
  • An approved e-Visa and an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) are emailed to you. Print and carry it.
  • Some applicants may be called for a short embassy/consulate interview.
  • Applicants must hold a valid Bahraini passport.
  • A passport must have at least six months of validity from the date of arrival in India.
  • Travellers must have a return ticket or confirmed onward travel from Bahrain to India.
  • Sufficient financial resources must be available to cover stay expenses (based on the last three months' bank transactions).
  • Applicant must not hold a Pakistani passport or be of Pakistani origin, as special visa rules apply.
  • Must comply with India’s security and immigration regulations, with no travel bans or legal restrictions from Bahrain.
  • Bahrain patients and their medical attendants can apply online for an e-medical visa and a medical attendant e-medical visa at least 4 days before they arrive in India.
  • Medical e-Visa is valid for 60 days with a triple-entry allowance.
  • Validity begins from the date of e-Visa issuance, not the arrival date in India.
  • Overstaying beyond the visa validity is subject to penalties. Duration of stay per entry varies.
  • The Indian Medical Visa for Bahraini patients is usually valid for 3 months. It can be extended while staying in India with the approval of the FFRO of the respective state.
  • A valid passport (minimum 6 months' validity), passport-size photos, and a residence permit for expatriates.
  • Medical invitation letter from the Indian hospital, along with recent medical reports and treatment estimate.
  • Referral letter from the treating doctor in the resident country (recommended).
  • Travel documents, including a return flight booking, proof of accommodation, and a completed travel itinerary, issued from Bahrain.
  • Completed Medical Visa application with digital photo, passport scan, and e-visa fee receipt.
  • Financial documents such as 3–6 months' bank statements, plus supporting documents such as an employer's letter, insurance, or a vaccination certificate, if required, issued from Bahrain.
