The Mitrofanoff Procedure is a urinary reconstruction technique that creates a continent catheterizable channel between the bladder and the abdominal wall. It is used in selected patients who have difficulty emptying the bladder through the urethra, often due to neurogenic bladder, congenital urinary abnormalities, or other complex bladder conditions. A small channel is created using the appendix or another suitable tissue, allowing intermittent catheterization through a small opening on the abdomen.
