Osteoporosis is a condition in which bones become weak, brittle, and more prone to fractures due to loss of bone density and deterioration of bone structure. It commonly develops with aging, hormonal changes such as menopause, nutritional deficiencies, long-term steroid use, endocrine disorders, or reduced physical activity. Patients may not experience symptoms in the early stages, but as the disease progresses, they may develop back pain, loss of height, stooped posture, or fractures involving the spine, hip, or wrist even after minor falls or injuries. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment are important to reduce fracture risk and maintain bone health.
