Angioedema is found out by a doctor who looks at the person and checks for swelling under the skin. This swelling often happens on the lips, eyelids, face, throat, hands or feet. The doctor who specializes in skin problems or allergies will look at the symptoms, the person's history of allergies, the medicines they take, their family history and what might have caused the swelling. The doctor might also want to do some blood tests or check for allergies to see if the swelling is because of an allergy, something they got from their family or a bad reaction to a medicine.
